If you read and watch the previous post, “First day of social media class” you will see a group of students in awe of the amazing technology available and at their disposal. In this case it was the ability to stream video via a blackberry phone (just an old curve, not one of the new ones… ahem.. are you reading this dear wife??) which is automatically uploaded to the internet via qik.
I posted the video for everyone to see, life is good, things are going well and then we have feedback.
“They do not look enthused haha”
I don’t disagree with the comment, but don’t feel the video was truly representative of the class. I could delete the comment or edit it (I have the ability) but that wouldn’t contribute to the goodwill of social media. Instead we decided to respond. Just communicating and clarifying…
(Video removed due to tech issues… such is life.)
In the interest of full disclosure, which I didn’t share with the class, I know Abby, she was one of the best students I had the priveledge of knowing (honestly, there have been lots, she was just the one who commented and I hope she continues) and was even featured on in the post, Ten Questions. Abby, if you are ever near Stillwater, please stop by and say hi. If you have time, I would love for you to share your thoughts on PR and how you use the skills learned in college in your current position.
That’s awesome.
People should be enthused, not only about social media, but also about having you as a professor. I’ll let you know if/when I’m in the neighborhood.
Who isn’t enthused about social media?
